Info-turbation

We live in an age when we are going through an information revolution. Every day, we come up with new novel ways to shove down more information into our eyes.
We are overloaded with information - there's not doubt about that. The question is, when will it stop?

Pioneer just manufactured a disc that can hold 400 GB. (PC World) Terabyte discs have been out for a while, we are shoving more cores into Intel chips than an American can shove hotdogs down their throats, it's a real shitshow (Gizmodo). Computer parts are getting smaller, (Gizmodo) while the screens get larger (TechBlog) while our cellphones have more number features than an emperor's palace had back in the Middle Ages (In terms of variety).

Truth is, I don't think it will stop for a while. it's simply just too sexy. On one hand, we've got an addiction to information over the fact that it's instantly transmittable over a very long distance, and on the other hand we've got the lure of portability (EXCELLENT article on nomadism from Economist). On top of that, I actually believe this is, to some degree, beneficial. But we are clearly under constraints. More and more games are being released with tons of bugs, many of the projects never get finished, there are huge compatibility issues with drivers and hardwares. Something's gotta give.

What is that something? Will there be a new way to write codes? Will there be a collapse/boom in the coding industry? Consolidation?

I don't know.
