Scary. Sure financials never had the sudden run-up like the techs did, but they sure as hell did implode just as fast.

Exhibit no1. Financial companies comps chart.

Exhibit no2. Tech (MSFT and CSCO) comps chart.

Few things.

1) yes financial never did 800x jump like Cisco did.
2) They also never fell as much.

But, if you compare the acceleration of the charts it's pretty similar in terms of time span and momentum. Also, Cisco and Microsoft were two of the largest jumps during the period. take a look at Nortel, and drool at the striking similarities between the 00,01 era vs financials now.
