Commoditization of touch-screen phones?

Commoditization of touch-screen phones?

First we get the innovative types which mixed PDA and Phone.

Then, we get Blackberry - one critical point though: it's not good enough for everyday consumers. Sure it does e-mail etc, but it's more for business people.

Then Iphone comes out and totally shocks the market. Ipods have commoditized mp3 players, driving pricepoints down and forcing innovations (Sony's Rolly vis IGN).
Now, can Iphone do to PDA phone industry what Ipods did to mp3 players?

Here are five of newest PDA phones that I've found - add on google Android/google phone...... we could be on the verge of PDA Phone commodities.

So, my reco will be, hold onto cash, price points will be much lower soon and we are either on the verge of next breakthrough or we're just waiting for commercialization.
